How much does it cost to rent a boat in Hong Kong? Whole-boat vs per-head
The confusing part of boat-rental prices in Hong Kong is that some quote per head and some per boat. Here's how 天天租船 prices, what's included, and how to split it.
Per-head and per-boat are two different products
Open a few boat-rental pages in Hong Kong and you'll see "from $200 per person" next to "from $7,500 per boat". The numbers look miles apart because they're selling different things. A per-head price is usually a shared boat: you sail with strangers, on someone else's schedule and route. A whole-boat price means the boat is yours. How many people, what time, where to go: your call.
How 天天租船 prices: the whole-boat rates
天天租船 only quotes whole-boat prices. The day trip runs 10AM to 6PM, from $7,500 on weekdays and $8,500 on weekends and public holidays. The Victoria Harbour night cruise leaves at 7PM, from $5,500 on weekdays and $7,500 on weekends. Up to 33 guests. That's a ceiling, not a pricing unit.
What the price includes
The price covers the boat, the crew, SUP boards, the inflatable, karaoke and life jackets. Food and drink you bring yourself; there are tables, seats and shade on deck, and no catering package you have to buy on top.
How to get the best value
So how do you get the best value? Split it. One whole-boat price divided between three or four families, or a team from work, often comes to less per family than a day at a theme park. We don't publish a per-head figure because every group is a different size. Divide it yourselves and you'll see.
